Medical Reiki
I am a certified Medical Reiki Master, trained to provide Integrated Energy Medicine to patients in medical settings. Through the use of Reiki, I can enhance a patient's medical experience in settings such as operating rooms, infusion centers, labor and delivery rooms, birthing centers, hospices, and more. My expertise allows me to safely administer Reiki to clients, providing them with a holistic approach to their medical care.
Several published papers have supported using Reiki as a tool to improve health. It effectively reduced pain, anxiety before and after surgery, symptoms of chemotherapy, emotional stress, depression after surgery, and recovery time. In addition, studies have shown that Reiki positively impacts nurses, physicians, and other hospital workers who contribute to the patient's care.
I received my training from Raven Keys Medical Reiki International. The curriculum was developed by the late Raven Keyes, who was a Medical Reiki Master and worked closely with Dr. Sheldon M. Feldman, the chief of breast cancer surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York. Raven provided Reiki to patients before, during, and after surgery, and she documented her clinical experiences in her book, Medical Reiki.
Apart from the potential benefits to patients, there is a practical advantage in including Reiki in clinical settings as more patients seek complementary therapies. Reiki has been integrated into the hospital setting, with more than 800 hospitals offering it nationwide. This has led to prominent healthcare institutions offering Reiki programs, such as Duke Integrative Medicine, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Spaulding Rehab, Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Children's Hospital Boston, Mayo Clinic, and Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine and Digestive Center, among others.
